![]() ![]() ![]() These apex predators are not only fierce carnivores that keep the food chain in check, but slick hunters that can pounce on their prey before anyone’s noticed. They represent everything it means to reign at the top and hang with the upper echelon, where no one can challenge your superiority. And because we all have feral side to our personalities, it’s time to discuss the big cat that captures each zodiac sign, especially when they’re at their most wild, untamed, and unbothered.įrom feisty and adorable beasts to terrifying and gargantuan predators, wild cats resonate with us spiritually on so many levels. The way they ricochet from cuddly and domesticated to primal and petulant in a nanosecond makes them mesmerizing to watch. Cats have been one of the most popular pets since the beginning of time and we truly can’t get enough of them. I will admit the condescending “that’s how opinions work” at the end adds nothing, I was reading this late and was thinking “better shut this down” (which in itself was arrogant of me), but it was just needless.Felines have been the object of human fascination for at least 100,000 years and it’s easy to understand why. Like I said, maybe someone will say “well, I liked how they played the sheriff this way”, since OP has deemed the film poorly cast the only likely response of any is “it didn’t work for me because I thought he was poorly cast”. My stance on these kind of posts is they don’t really make room for much conversation. Most of what I would’ve said, that the acting is top notch, the intertwined stories are compelling and the cinematography is stunning, have already been labelled as negatives by the OP. The OP doesn’t believe any acclaim is merited. OP included these phrases in the post: “I honestly can't believe this won awards”, “Am I alone in this?”. You may dislike it, OP may dislike it, it is still me giving you an answer that does work. ![]() Thank you to everyone who took the time to comment, I really appreciate the discussion, and was genuinely excited to read comments that disagreed with my points! *Update - Fuck everyone who downvoted this discussion just because you disagree with my point. Am I alone in this? Am I wrong? Did I miss something? I get the whole subtext and metaphor with the story within the film and how it relates to the main characters, but I was still so distracted by the other things I mentioned. Honestly didn't really enjoy very much of the film at all. ![]() Two characters are talking in a supposedly bustling New York City restaurant and they're practically whispering across the table and there's no background noise at all. On sound design, in some of the restaurant scenes there was just no background noise whatsoever. I can't help but think the more emotional scenes would have been better without the never ending soundtrack in the background. I’m just really, really unhappy), poorly cast, basic cinematography (the vast majority of conversations is done with a shot-reverse shot), poorly cut. I honestly can't believe this won awards. Prisoners was absolutely amazing, loved every second of it. This is the first time I've watched either of these films. I watched a Jake Gyllenhaal double-bill tonight on Netflix. ![]()
