Of course having a new mana pool every 6 minutes will outheal a feral or balance build druid. See math below for spell specific information.Ģ. normal can heal 5 times but HoTW can heal 6. With Heart of the Wild (HoTW) it is assumed that with 20% more mana you will heal 20% more than normal.Įx. There are some basic considerations and my main argument with some proof following.ġ. If you want, please take the time to read (and point out errors). I have taken a look at some of the restoration talents and I am not impressed. Another druid I know hates to leave caster form, but she likes how a druid heals better than a priest. But a resto will make it go farther.Īs long as you can heal competently then spec doesn't much matter.įor me personally I think my guild and I get much more benefit from the fact that I can in a second become a physical powerhouse than when I had innervate. As a feral I have an advantage in that I can get more out of INT than a resto or balance. Other than that though I haven't really seen much difference. The most noticeable difference I can think of when I heal next to a resto spec is just that my Rejuv usually never works since their's is more powerful. Healing touch is still enough to just about fill my bar in caster form but regrowth I think is where it got hit the hardest. I do notice that after 1.8 my heals aren't as strong as there were before. That Hand of Edward the Odd tends to help when combined with Nature's swiftness too. My friend is 30/21 and usually 1-ups all the other raid healers. When they do its usually something that couldn't have been saved regardless of spec. My heals aren't as strong but my parties rarely die. I'm 14/32/5 and I heal on par with most restoration druids or priests I meet. This also assumes a 0/30/21 build including nature's swiftness. I am pointing out that having 20% increase in intellect will probably allow most people to heal well when they need to while getting to have fun with buffed forms. If I am completly wrong or off base let me know.ĭisclaimer - I am not trying to say that a feral spec is > restoration spec. (I know the counter argument to this is that innervate doubles the mana output as opposed to a 20% increase.)īesides the innervate argument someone please tell me how some of the deeper level restoration can do alot better than having 20% increase intellect. Mana for mana it is not as effecient but heart of the wild seems to do better than tranquil spirit + gift of nature together. Heart of the wild does give a 20% boost to mana when maxed out.Ī 20% boost in mana will outheal (as in numbers of times) someone who has mana cost 10% less.Ī 20% boost in mana will even be able to outpreform someone who has the 10% boost from gift of nature as well. I have been looking at some of the deeper restoration talents and many of them don't seem to do alot to make me want to go restore as opposed to feral. A good healer become a very bad healer when they run out of mana. If in higher instances you have to heal, people expect a good quality healer. Healing well is an obvious issue with any class that can heal especially the druid. I'm new to the class so please bear with me.
